Can budgies eat raspberries?

Yes, in small amounts

Yes, in small amounts. Raspberries are safe for budgies and a little lower in sugar than many fruits, but they are still fruit, so keep portions small.

Portion
Half of one raspberry
How often
2–3 times a week
Sugar
4.4 g / 100 g

How to serve it

  1. Rinse gently but thoroughly under running water
  2. Pull the berry apart into small pieces
  3. Serve fresh, or fully thawed if frozen
  4. Remove leftovers within a couple of hours, as raspberries spoil quickly

Why

Risks. Raspberries are soft and hard to wash, and birds are very sensitive to pesticides. Their sugar content means they should not replace vegetables.

Benefits. Berries are rich in fiber, vitamins and antioxidants, as the AAV points out.
