Can budgies eat peaches?

Yes, in small amounts

Yes, in small amounts. Peach flesh is safe for budgies, but the pit contains cyanide-releasing compounds and the fruit is sugary, so offer a small, pitted piece.

Portion
One or two pieces about 1 cm (⅜ in) across
How often
Once or twice a week
Sugar
8.4 g / 100 g

How to serve it

  1. Wash the peach well; the skin can stay on
  2. Remove the pit completely
  3. Dice the flesh into small pieces
  4. Remove leftovers within a couple of hours

Why

Risks. Peach pits, like other stone-fruit pits, contain cyanogenic compounds. The flesh is sugary, and canned peaches are usually packed in syrup.

Benefits. Ripe peach is soft and juicy and adds variety.
