Can budgies eat mango?

Yes, in small amounts

Yes, in small amounts. Mango flesh is safe for budgies and rich in beta-carotene, but it is one of the sweetest fruits, so a small piece occasionally is plenty.

Portion
One or two pieces about 1 cm (⅜ in) across
How often
Once or twice a week
Sugar
13.7 g / 100 g

How to serve it

  1. Wash the mango, then peel it
  2. Cut the flesh away from the large stone and discard the stone
  3. Dice into small pieces
  4. Remove leftovers within a couple of hours

Why

Risks. Mango is very sweet, and budgies gain weight easily. The skin is tough and best removed.

Benefits. VCA lists mango among the orange-fleshed fruits that supply plenty of vitamin A precursors.

Questions owners ask 1

Can budgies eat dried mango?

It is better not to. Dried mango is much more concentrated in sugar and is often sweetened; a small piece of fresh mango is the better choice.
