Can cockatiels eat mango?

Yes, in small amounts

Yes, in small amounts. Mango is a good source of beta-carotene for cockatiels, but it is very sweet, so offer a small peeled piece now and then.

Portion
Two or three pieces about 1.5 cm (⅝ in) across
How often
Once or twice a week
Sugar
13.7 g / 100 g

How to serve it

  1. Wash and peel the mango
  2. Discard the stone
  3. Cut the flesh into bite-sized pieces
  4. Clear away leftovers after a couple of hours

Why

Risks. High sugar content; cockatiels are prone to obesity and fatty liver disease, so sweet fruit needs to stay occasional.

Benefits. Its orange flesh supplies carotenoids that birds convert to vitamin A.

Questions owners ask 1

Can cockatiels chew on a mango stone?

It is better not to offer it. The stone has little flesh left, can harbor mold once it sits out, and fresh flesh is a better treat.
