Can cockatiels eat peas?
Yes — safe in normal portions
Yes. Peas are a safe vegetable for cockatiels, fresh or thawed from frozen, and pods give them something to open and forage.

- About a tablespoon (15 ml) of peas, or one or two pods
- How often
- A few times a week
- Sugar
- 5.7 g / 100 g
How to serve it
- Use fresh peas or thawed frozen peas
- Offer loose peas or whole washed pods

Why
Risks. Somewhat starchy, so they should complement rather than replace lower-calorie vegetables.
Benefits. Peas supply plant protein and fiber, and working pods open is good enrichment.
